Optional courses

The courses listed below refer to the latest academic program catalogue. However, students are required to follow the catalogue corresponding to their year of enrolment; for any updates to the study plan, the most recent version of the catalogue may also be consulted.

 

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

In the academic year 2025/2026, the following optional courses will be offered (only in the case of a sufficient number of participants):

Semester I

  • GIS applications in wildlife management (4 ECTS)
  • Population Genetics: Practical Applications in Marine Zoology (4 ECTS)
  • Wildlife Research for Conservation and Management (2 ECTS)
  • Wildlife Anaesthesia and Restraint Basics (2 ECTS)

Semester II

  • Aliens and Island Endemics (2 ECTS)
  • Food Safety and Hygienic Management of Game Meat Production Chain (4 ECTS)
  • Wildlife First Aid and Emergency Management (2 ECTS)

Semester III (only for 2nd year students)

  • Conservation and Genetic Monitoring of Wild Predators (2 ECTS)
  • Genomic data analysis for conservation and risk assessment (4 ECTS)
  • Nutrition and Nutritional Management of Marine Mammals (2 ECTS)

Students can attend two or more of such courses to achieve a minimum of 8 ECTS as “Optional activities”.
